Update on Hurling InterCounty Tournaments
Saturday, 27 August 2011 15:17
It has been a great day in Laois as the Kerry U14b Squad have won the Plate Tournament. They beat Wicklow 6-13 to 3pts, they beat Westmeath 5-10 to 1-1 and then overcame Carlow 4-2 to 1-2. Kerry Captain Jeremy McKenna from Lixnaw was presented with the Plate. Also in Laois, the U14a team also did very well beating Armagh 6-8 to 5pts and beat Carlow 5pts to 2pts but unfortunately lost to Meath 6-3 to 4-3. The U15 Squad travelled to Clarecastle but sadly it wasn't to be their day as they lost both games.
The U16s were in action in Mullingar. They did very well and qualified for the semi final having beat Carlow 5-15 to 5-5 and Mayo 3-9 to 1-2. Unfortunately the U16s lost the semi final to Meath 5-9 tp 3-7.
Overall it was a great day for the Kerry Underage Hurlers. We thank the players and management for their huge commitment to these tournaments and congratulations to the U14b hurlers!
