Paudie Butler To Visit Kerry

On the 12th/13th/14th May Paudie Butler, one of Ireland's top Hurling Coaches, will visit Kerry for a number of workshops and visits to schools and clubs.Paudie has made a massive contribution to the development of hurling in not alone Kerry but nationwide particularly in his role as National Director of Hurling, a role he has recently retired from. But Paudie will continue to travel the country trying to spread the gospel of hurling and assisting as many coaches as he can. His infinite knowledge and unbelievable enthusiasm is there for all to see and he has an infectious nature that leaves people invigorated in his presence.
Paudie's Itinerary -
On Thursday from 3-4.15pm in Dr. Crokes pitch Paudie will carry out a 'Hurling Bonanza' with all 2nd/3rd class pupils in the local primary schools urged to attend. On Thursday night Paudie will hold a Workshop in Kilgarvan. From 6-7pm Paudie will work with a number of U12 players and look at 'Coaching the Basics' of the game really well and from 7.15-8.15pm he will work with a mix of U14 and U16 players and will look at the area of 'Striking and First Touch'. All clubs coaches are invited to attend. also the Summer Programme will be launched on the night at 7pm.

On Friday morning Paudie will be in Kilgarvan NS and Cahir NS demonstrating the Fundmamentals of Hurling. Again all club coaches are invited to attend. On Friday evening from 7-8pm at Na Gaeil Paudie will work with the Na Gaeil U10 squad on 'Spotting Mistakes and Fixing them'. From 8-9pm he will work with an U13 squad on 'Hurling Quicker, Faster, Stronger'. All clubs are asked to send in 3 players. Again all club coaches are invited and urged to attend as Paudie offers something new everytime we see him. There will also be a discussion and special presentation to Paudie after in Na Gaeil clubhouse so please make every effort to attend.

On Saturday morning there will be a session with the County U14 Hurling Development Squad in Austin Stack Park at 10.30am. He will look at various ways of bringing our county squads to another level. All Development Squad Coaches are expected to attend as also the Hurling Development Squads for 2011 will be launched.
