U 16 County League Div 3
Glenflesk 4-14 v Listowel 1-09

Glenflesk started their U16 game against Listowel with a move involving Danny Lucey, Gavin Kelly and Brian O Donoghue, which ended with Johnny Healy goaling for Glenflesk. Danny Lucey, Padraig Healy , David O Donoghue and Brian O Donoghue added further points for Glenflesk to leave Glenflesk ahead 1-4 after 15 minutes play. Listowel began their scoring with a free by Bryan Greaney, who took his free kicks well throughout the game. Glenflesk responded with another Johnny Healy goal and a point from Danny Lucey.  Listowel began to get the upper hand at this stage and Roy Kelliher in the Glenflesk goal made a good save after a great move involving Listowel’s Jack McGuire, David Enright and Kevin Barry. Jack Hartnett was on hand to crash the ball to the Glenflesk net. This was the start of a purple patch for Listowel. Bryan Greaney scored two frees for Listowel and Eddie Joe Walsh scored a great point from play.  Glenflesk responded well before half time to score two points, one by Gavin Kelly and the other by Edmund Kelliher to leave the half time score Glenflesk 2-07 and Listowel 1-04. Listowel began the second half well with a pointed free by Bryan Greaney and a further point from play by Eddie Joe Walsh. Jeff O Donoghue scored a goal for Glenflesk and Gavin Kelly added a further Glenflesk point. Listowel’s Bryan Greaney scored two frees to keep Listowel in touch but Jeff O Donoghue scored a great individual goal after soloing in from the half way line. Glenflesk were in command in most sectors of the field but Listowel to their credit kept playing to the end. Listowel found it difficult to get past the Glenflesk defence and Glenflesk finished strongly with points from Jeff O Donoghue, Padraig Healy, John Healy, Gavin Kelly and David O Donoghue. Listowel and Glenflesk were well matched teams in general play but Glenflesk took most of their scoring opportunities which made the difference in the end.
Final score: Glenflesk 4-14 v Listowel 1-09.
